Eighth Grade meets from 10:05 to 11:35AM, while all the younger grades meet from 10:15 to 11:30AM. Classes start on August 18, 2024 and end on April 27, 2025.
Pre-K and Kindergarten
This program is open to all students ages 4 and 5. The main focus of this program is to teach the students about God's love for them and the basic prayers of the faith.
Religious Education Classes Grades 1-7
Throughout our Faith Formation program, the students will learn the various mysteries and aspects of the Catholic Faith. Each grade uses the "Faith and Life" series from Ignatius Press. 7th grade uses "G.P.S. God's Plan in Scripture" from Ascension Press. Students will use the class set of text books and their own (purchased) activity books for their appropriate grade.
Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation & Holy Communion
Faith Formation is a lifelong and ongoing process. First Communion Preparation is a process that takes two years. It (usually*) starts in 1st grade, continues in 2nd grade and includes a daylong retreat. 75% Mass and class attendance is required. It is (usually*) in 2nd grade that the children receive the actual sacraments.
Confirmation Preparation
Faith Formation is a lifelong and ongoing process. Confirmation Preparation is a process that takes two years. It (usually*) starts in 7th grade, continues in 8th grade and includes a daylong retreat. 75% Mass and class attendance is required. 8th grade uses "Chosen: Your Journey to Confirmation" from Ascension Press. It is (usually*) in 8th grade that the students receive the actual sacrament.
* Sacramental Preparation usually takes place as stated above and is always two years. However, if for whatever reason a student doesn't fit the normal Faith Formation grade progression, adjustments can be made. This could include an older student being assigned to a younger grade or being included in an age appropriate smaller group that meets during the week. This would be determined on a case-by-case situational basis.
** Students who have attended a Catholic school for the two consecutive years leading up to the sacrament are exempt from the first year of sacramental preparation.
