Sacrament of the Eucharist

“I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst.”     -John 6:35-

The Sacrament of the Eucharist is the "Source and Summit" of our Catholic Faith.  The Eucharist is the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.  The Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ.  It is through the Sacrament of the Eucharist that we are united with Christ and through Christ united to God and others; this is why the Eucharist is referred to as "The Sacrament of Unity."  Since we are fed the Eucharist which in turn strengthens us in Christ, the Eucharist is called, "The Bread of Life."

Children typically receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion during 2nd Grade.  For more information on sacramental preparation for First Holy Communion, please contact: Andy Gotsch, our Director of Faith Formation, at (727) 868-5276 or agotsch@saintmichaelchurch.org.
