Sacristan
Responsibilities
Undertakes the overall preparation of all liturgical celebrations, including weekend and/or daily Masses, weddings, baptisms, and funerals. Arrives at least one hour before the start of Mass. Prepares the altar by placing the liturgical books and vessels in their proper place. Stays after the end of Mass to wash the sacred vessels and replace all items to their original storage area. Coordinates all the other liturgical ministries for each liturgy.
Qualifications
Must be fully initiated into the Catholic Church (received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation). If married, the marriage must be recognized by the Catholic Church.
