Altar Servers
This ministry is open to boys and girls from 3rd to 12th grades who have received First Communion. These children assist the priest at the Eucharist each weekend and have the opportunity to learn more about the Church and its worship. The Altar Society's work is quiet and behind the scenes, overseeing the reverent care of our Church. It is the responsibility of the Altar Society to ensure that His dwelling place is maintained with the greatest honor, dignity and respect. Bible Study

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve at all the Masses distributing the Eucharist at Communion time. They also take the Blessed Sacrament to our parishioners who are unable to get to Mass. Various teams visit the hospital daily, serve the homebound, visit nursing homes and retirement centers weekly. For more info, call Barbara at 819-5134.
Faith Formation
The Church is responsible for continuing the mission of Jesus to proclaim the kingdom of God. The ministry of Faith Formation shares with the parents in this mission through a continuing commitment to promote morality, teach religious literacy and present the Catholic faith as completely as possible. Homebound Mass
One of our oldest traditions, the Homebound Mass, is offered twice a year. Several parish organizations contribute help and materials to make this event a memorable one for a group of very special parishioners. Held on a Thursday morning, the program gives disabled/homebound parishioners an opportunity for confession, anointing and to receive the Eucharist. Hospitality Ministry
Greeters and ushers serve the church in a very important capacity as they welcome the faithful who gather from all parts of the community for weekend liturgies. Participation in this ministry is open to all men, women & youth of the parish. For more information, call Frank at 819-5142.
Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus St.Michael Council #10377 is a Catholic men’s fraternal organization. Knights of Columbus 4th Degree
The Fr. Michael Leap Assembly of Fourth Degree Knights is made up of Knights from St. Michael's, Our Lady Queen of Peace and St. James parishes. They are primarily concerned with the patriotic and ceremonial aspects of the order. For more information, please call Barbara at 819-5134.
Ladies' Sodality

Lectors

Legion of Mary
In the past 70 years the women and men of the Legion of Mary have played an enormous role in the missionary efforts of the Church, visiting the homebound, and comforting the bereaved. Men of Saint Michael

Music Ministry

Prayer Group
The Prayer Group's purpose is to give love, honor and glory to God and to witness to God’s working in our lives. At meetings, the prayer requests of parishioners are lifted up to God. For dates and times for prayer group meetings, call Barbara at 819-5134.
Prayer Warrior
The purpose of this prayer chain is to provide spiritual support for anyone who wishes. They are composed of many humble souls of the parish who offer up intercessory and thanksgiving prayers. Pre-Cana
Marriage is a sacrament and should not be entered into lightly, but deliberately and seriously. Pre-Cana sessions, mandatory for the Sacrament of Marriage, offer each couple the time and opportunity to question, examine, and deepen their relationship with each other and with God. Recovery Incorporated
"Recovery” is a self-help group for people with nervous symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, obsessions, feelings of unreality and so forth. The meetings are structured and the participants are taught how to change their attitudes and behavior. For information about this program, please call Barbara at 819-5134.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
The R.C.I.A. program is for those who are not currently members of the Roman Catholic Church, but who might wish to learn more about it or consider joining the Church. Rosary Makers
Members of this ministry are taught to make Rosaries that are blessed and shipped to missions in the United States, foreign countries as well as local hospitals and nursing homes. Special Needs Ministry
The goal of the Special Needs ministry program is to unite the community as one body where people with physical and intellectual disabilities can grow in their relationship with Christ and fully participate in the life and the mission of the parish community. St. Lazarus Society
Members of this ministry pray daily for the faithful departed and attend funeral Masses. The members will also recite the Rosary for the deceased at the funeral home upon request by the family, and will go to the nearby cemetery for the interment when there are very few mourners present. St. Michael Singles (55+)
St. Michael Singles’ Club is a congenial social group, ages 55 and up, that meets once a month for lunch. Watch the bulletin for details on upcoming events or call Barbara at 819-5134.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
Supported by donations of money and food from our parishioners, SVdP staff offer assistance to people in need of food and clothing, and help to those who are homeless or about to be evicted. They also visit families in trouble, negotiate with landlords and power company officials and assist in procuring prescription medications. To volunteer for this ministry, please call 857-5818.
Youth Ministry
The goal of the youth ministry program is to foster a complete program where young people can grow in their relationship with Christ and fully participate in the life and mission of the parish community. Vocations Ministry
The Church's need for priests is growing. As priest die and retire, not enough men are being ordained to replace them. Members of the "Invisible Monastery" pledge to pray for an increase in vocations daily or weekly by offering Mass intentions, rosaries, holy hours, or any other type of prayer.
